A letter to family and friends

Dear Family Member / Friend, 
 
I'm writing you this letter with an open heart, because I’ve taken an important step on my healing journey. This step marks the beginning of a new phase: healing now begins within me.
 
I’m using the Free to Heal® method – a practice based on neuroplasticity that helps me release old patterns and reactions from both my body and mind.  If you feel called to, you’re welcome to walk alongside me and support me in this process.
 
In order to heal, I need to change. That means it no longer helps me to be reminded of how I used to be, or of my past symptoms and struggles. I’m learning a new way of relating to myself – and I’ve already made progress.
 
Although this journey mostly happens internally, your presence and attitude have a great impact. Your trust in me is medicine. Words matter, too – which is why I’m practicing a language that supports healing and well-being.
 
I don’t refer to my symptoms directly, but instead I use gentle and neutral expressions like “a skin-related challenge” or “something I’m moving through.” You can support me by asking things like “Are you already starting to feel better?” or gently encouraging me to speak from a place of well-being.
 
The method is teaching me to meet all of my emotions and sensations with gratitude.
